Brief Profile

Thanks for taking a peak at my  Art Marketing Blog.  This blog came about just as many others things I have been involved with.  I thought I saw a need.  As for bit of background  I have been an entrepreneur most of my life.  You know, as a kid sold greeting cards door to door, carried my mower by the sissy bar on my Schwinn to my lawn mowing gigs.  If I really look back at it I always have been a contrarian.  Thats tough has a kid but even tougher as an adult.  “Why cant you be like everyone else?  Didya ever hear that?  Anyway went to the US Navy School of Photography after high school.  I planned that and specifically wanted that school at the time.  I learned a bunch and had a blast.  I had a major challenge with the socialistic nature of the system.  I am not faultng that…It just didnt work for me.  I got out after my five years and pursued a bunch of otherthings.  Much in the way of photography and art but always finding businesses I had an interest in along the way.  I headed to College later on in life as a “non-traditional student” and graduated with a degree from Regis University in Accounting.  That after a stint in fine-art.  Not much transfers.  Long-time student.  Anyway went to the corporate world in about 1988 or so, banking, finance, recruiting, oh and accounting.  I bounced around there and decided that an ADD dyslexic accounting geek that love the arts would be bette off on his own.  So I went out on my own with various ventures.  So winners and some colssal failures….but always educational specific to business and marketing.  So roll down the road several years when I got back into Photography as a profession.  I quickly realized a few things. One,  most artists new nothing about marketing, two. I didn’t like a single income stream and the pressure of commercial production.  Dont misunderstand by thinking I mean as a commercial photographer.  No I mean day in day out having to produce even if you were dry inside.  So a decision was made to do what I do best which is business and marketing and combine that with my passion for the arts.  So there you have it.  Someday I will fill in the years with some stories about the business ventures.  Educational adventure is what I call it.  So until next time…….day by the hour -life by a vision.
